2024: My year of His Kingdom and His will

While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest… shall not cease (Genesis 8:22). This statement is a pointer to the fact that as much as God wants to bless His people, He expects them to sow seed to activate the blessing.

God being a good and righteous God, not a task master, first supplies both seed and food to His people and expects them to sow the seed for more harvest/blessing. Thus, 2 Corinthians 9:10 declares that he who supplies seed to the Sower and bread for food will supply and multiply seed for sowing and increase the harvest of righteousness for His obedient people.

Many of us do prefer to eat both the seed and the food, this is a wrong mentality and approach as it contradicts the principle of God. Seed is supplied to the Sower while food is supplied to the eater. He that eats his seed will have nothing to sow and consequently has nothing to reap or be blessed by God. The Bible says Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundredfold, for the LORD blessed him, and he became rich, and gained more and more until he became very wealthy (Genesis 26:12-13).  Apparently, Isaac’s sown seed was graced and blessed by God to produce more harvest. This is corroborated by Jesus’ Statement that says:

“…unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” (John 12:24)

Let us not be in delusion of thinking that whether we sow or not we will reap. Also, we should be mindful of the soil we sow in as God is not only concern about the quality of the sown seed but also of the soil where the seed is sown. In addition to these, we should watch and pray over our sown seed to make sure no birds of the air will come to scatter or eat them up (Galatians 6:7-8, Genesis 15:11, Matthew 13:4-9).

The month of July is declared

‘OUR MONTH OF SEED SOWING’.

Genesis 8:22, 15:11, 26:12-13, 2 Corinthians 9:10, John 12:24, Galatians 6:7-10, Matthew 13:4-9, Ecclesiastes 11:6

Glory be to God!

Brethren, consistency is required in seed sowing. Therefore, let us sow seed in the morning and in the evening without holding back, for we do not know which will prosper, this or that, or whether both alike will be good (Ecclesiastes 11:6, Galatians 6:9-10).

May the Lord accept and bless every seed we shall sow throughout this month and beyond in Jesus’ name!
