The Bible has made it clear that God is always looking for someone or people to stand in the gap for people, cities or even nations (Ezekiel 22:30, Job 42:8-10, Jeremiah 29:7).
In the old testament, Aaron and Moses played a good priestly ministry of interceding for the children of Israel (Exodus 14:9-14, 28:29-30), Abraham interceded for Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 18:23-32). In the new testament, Jesus interceded for Peter (Luke 22:32), being our high priest (Hebrews 4:14), Jesus makes intercession for us at the right hand of God (Romans 8:34).
Remember we have been made kings and priests by Jesus unto God (Revelations 1:6). We cannot just be kings and priests without carrying out the priestly work of interceding for others. Through our prayers, deliverance will come to many and many will give thanks to God (Philippians 1:19, 2 Corinthians 1:11), more laborers will come to the harvest field which will in turn bring more harvest of souls to the kingdom of God (Matthew 9:38).
The Bible admonishes us in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 to intercede for all people including Kings and all in authority as this will make us live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
Brethren let us not be ignorant of all these or pretend not to know about them because praying for other people will not only bring deliverance to them but also to us (Job 42:10).
In view of these, July is proclaimed.
Glory be to God in the highest!
Let us take our priestly ministry of intercession to a higher level in this month of July and beyond for it is good in the sight of God and He will supply the grace.
