Sin has made man to be vulnerable to sickness since the fall of Adam and Eve from glory due to disobedience to God instruction. But God, being not only powerful but also merciful, has made provision for the healing of His children in Christ Jesus (1 Peter 2:24). In fact, Jesus called healing ‘the children bread’ (Matthew 15:26). No wonder in Acts 10:38 He went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil with the power of the Holy Spirit and the presence of God the father.
It is obvious that it is not the will of God for His children to be sick (Matthew 8:2-3). This is the reason He made provision for healing. He said categorically that they that duel in Zion shall not say, “I am sick” because they are forgiven of their iniquity (Isaiah 33:24).
A careful study of the life of Jesus from the Bible shows that no one came to Him for healing went home without being healed (Matthew 8:16, 9:35, 12:15, 14:14 & 36, 15:30, 19:2, Luke 5:15, 6:18, 9:11). God healed before the law, during the law, during grace and even in this our contemporary time. He has not changed (Malachi 3:6), He is the same yesterday, and today and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
Let us call on Him for healing for ourselves and our land during this month, He will hear us and heal us if we call in faith without doubting. Remember a doubting person is like the wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. The person receives nothing of the Lord.
In view of this, the month of February is declared:
“OUR MONTH OF JEHOVAH RAPHA”. To Him alone be all the glory!
