2024: My year of His Kingdom and His will

If everything should leave a believer, there are two important things that should not be allowed to leave. These two things are very paramount to believers if they are to continue in the way of the Lord or they are to be sustained. They are the Holy Spirit and the joy of the Lord.

David was appealing to God after his transgression, he said:

“Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me”.

Psalm 51:11-12

He knew the importance of the Holy Spirit and the joy of salvation.

Nehemiah told the children of Israel not to grieve because the joy of the Lord is their strength (Nehemiah 8:10 NIV). And Isaiah told them that with joy they will draw water from the wells of salvation (Isaiah 12:3 NIV).

This is the reason Habakkuk wrote that:

“Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation”.

Habakkuk 3:17-18

What a revelation!  Proverbs corroborates it by saying:

“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones”.

Proverbs 17:22

The medicine of revival, the medicine of restoration is the joy of the Lord.

Jesus said

“I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete”.

John 15:11

The Lord wants us joyful always irrespective of the billowing winds or unseemly situation we face (Philippians 4:4).

By the grace of God, the month of October is our month of

“JOY UNSPEAKABLE”.

Psalm 51:11-12, Nehemiah 8:10 NIV, Isaiah 12:3 NIV, Habakkuk 3:17-18, Proverbs 17:22, John 15:11, Philippians 4:4, Romans 8:37

Brethren in this month of October and beyond let us enjoy the unspeakable joy of the Lord because Romans 8:37 declares:

“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”
