The Bible says “…in the time past we had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy” (1 Peter 2:10). And Lamentations 3:22 says “it is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not“. If the Lord stops to have mercy, we will be consumed immediately by our arch enemy, the devil. “For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed” (Malachi 3:6). We are not consumed because the Lord does not change; His mercies are new every morning.
His mercies have brought us so many benefits including safeguarding us since the start of this COVID-19 and His mercies will carry us through in Jesus name. His mercies have made Him not to forsake us; neither destroys us nor forgets the covenant in the blood of Jesus. We are being crowned with lovingkindness and tender mercies (Psalm 103:4).
We wouldn’t say we have done everything correctly as supposed of The Lord but His mercies have kept us. Hence, Nehemiah 9:31 says nevertheless for thy great mercies’ sake thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God.
The month of May is declared
“OUR MONTH OF MERCY.” Glory be to God in the highest!
Brethren our God is plenteous in mercy (Psalm 103:8) and Hebrews 4:16 admonishes us to come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. But know that for us to have that boldness to approach the throne of grace, we need not to cover our sins and mistakes, rather we need to confess and forsake them so that more mercy will come to us from the father of mercy (Proverbs 28:13).
